new fuel pump-wont start

Help.
95 3.0
To get to the point,I just replaced the fuel pump. Car won't start. Pump does not turn on.

Before we lifted the tank back in we tried to crank it over with just hoses and and wires hooked up. The pump didn't kick on,so we disconnected the line to the fuel filter and cranked it over Nothing!
We tried several times..it worked for some reason once..but not again.
Any clues.
Anybody wanna buy a Taurus!!!!!!!!!!

Did it work before the pump was replaced, or was that the reason you replaced the pump?

Do you know where the fuel pump inertia switch is in the trunk? Make sure the switch didn't get tripped in the trunk. If so, reset and see what you have.

With the key in the run position, verify you have power to and from the inertia switch. If so, check for voltage to the fuel pump. I believe there is a separate ground wire to the pump and that it doesn't get it's ground through the tank being strapped up the to car, but verify that. Maybe you just need to run a jumper wire between the tank and the chassis of the car.

If you don't have power to the pump or inertia switch, check the fuses and see if you have voltage to the CCRM. If you are interested in the block diagram for the CCRM, which contains the fuel pump relay and is mounted above the radiator and underneath the plastic cover, go to http://www.members.aol.com/Rod241473...uff/CCRM-1.jpg

well,
In between posts went out and beat (tapped) on box above radiator, fired right up!
May not have need a pump all along.

It could very well be as it is with my car - reoccuring again and again every once in a while. But hopefully it's not.
