Advice on New Muffler

Hello. I just recently bought an N1 bomb style muffler made of T304 stainless steel for my 1998 Chevy Cavalier Rally Sport 2.4L, and the muffler was listed be made for Camaros and Cavaliers. However, the muffler's pipe end size is 2 1/2 inches, and my Cavalier's exhaust pipe is 2 inches wide. Could u guys give me advice on what would be the easiest or cheapest way of putting this muffler on securly. Would I need to buy a conversion pipe that would convert from 2" to 2.5" ? If so, where would I get such an extension, because I'll need this extension in a relatively large length, as I would need to cut the pipe off the old muffler. But, if you guys have any better ideas, then by all means, list them. I don't have a welder, but I might be able to get access to one at our school's basic car care class, but thats for last resort. when i bought mine the size was off aswell i think 2.5 to my 2, i just took it to midas and got it installed, although their fucking idiots there, i noticed a leak and had to take it back to be rewelded, and even now i don't think its a proper seal, so if you take it to a shop make sure they do it right, as ill have to get it fixed for f%$king etesting

I took mine to Midas as well, only mine is fine.

You can get that pipe at any auto parts store. That is what the probley did at midas. Just get that pipe and slide it on and check to see you have a good solid weld all the way around the pipe when you, or who ever welds it.

Actually they made mine custom.

I'll second (or third or whatever) the muffler shop approach. I recenly replaced a poisoned cat converter. I could have done the work myself, jacking up the vehicle, wedging my overweight self under their, struggling with a cutoff saw to get the old cut out then using muffer clamps to get the new one on.

Or I just took it to a local shop down the road. 15 minutes later everything was back together with welded connections.
