I would recomend mounting the amp to a piece of wood or some other non-conducting material to avoid ground loops, and mount that to your trunk. As far as the fuse block goes, find a good spot with nothing behind it and drill some holes. You could also use some high strength double sided tape or velcro.

That looks like a great spot to mount it. As far as the carpet goes, you could checkany car audio store. Home Depot might even carry something you could use. If all else fails...astoturf

Re: Where should ii mount the amp and my fuse block?

dam iw as just there to buy my amp kit, i looked around automotive and didnt see any carpet

what section/area is the carpet at?

do i HAVE to mount my fuse block? 14 feet of wire isnt enough and i can barely get enough wire to the trunk, if i DONT mount it, the wire that has the ring terminal already on it is too small and cannot reach anywhere that can take the fuse block without losing too much wire

so is it needed?

and also could i use like a smaller wire (as in 8 gauge) to go to the fuse block, and then from the fuse block comes 5 gauge to the amp?

cuz i need all the 5 gauge i can get

Re: Where should ii mount the amp and my fuse block?

What does your fuse block look like? Make sure your fuse is as close to the battery as you can get it because the wire before the fuse won't be protected. My fuse is in the engine compartment in an area where it doesn't get in the way of anything. It's not mounted anywhere and is very easy to access in case it ever blew.

Re: Where should ii mount the amp and my fuse block?

http://i.walmart.com/i/p/00/03/39/91...18_500X500.jpg

next to the ground wire except theres is not holes there to mount it

itll be in the same position as my current fuse is (its a atc) it just hangs there

would it work if i use both the 8 gauge i have now and a 9 gauge wire for my ground? put both of them in the amp and connect them to the same bolt?

Re: Where should ii mount the amp and my fuse block?

Yeah that fuse doesn't need to be mounted it can just be hanging out in the engine compartment.

I've never seen carpet at Wal-Mart either. I asked someone and they said they didn't carry it. Must be the big ones only.
