I have a 02 taurus with 65k miles, the engine has developed a chirp/sqeak coming from the drivers side, some where near the throttle body, its a constant noise at idle but seems to decrease at acceleration, i dont think its a belt/pully noise reflecting within the engine compartment
....can any one help..pls...thanks in advance

Re: 2002 chirp/sqeak
Its the cam sensor....its the metal shaft spinning in a plastic sensor housing.
I understand that the sensor is around $30....located on top of engine under the wiring harness you see going under the plastic shield. Hopefully the sensor is all you need...the rest of the assembly is around $160 to $200 . I've had the same problem some time with my 2000....just putting off the job until good summer weaTHER. |
