I have to wonder. Why post here instead of Contour.org?

I just have to wonder why people post problems with their cars here. You type in Ford Contour on yahoo or google and the first site to pop up is www.contour.org. We have people over there that have been there through the conception of the Contour and know much more than even I do. Not to mention we have archives of information over there. Every question that can possibly be thought of has been asked and answered. This place has pretty much zero knowledgebase, so I cant understand why people search for help here.

Someone care to explain?

Hell I have an escort and was a contour.org member for a while. Even attended a local meet.

My guess is that people just do a search for 'car forums' or something like that. Who knows.

Why do I constantly see beyondloadedse ans sk8ter constantly here and not at Contour.org?
The latter site is the better one for sure. Why plug up a forum with questions like this guys?

Because I try to get people to see the light about CEG. If it wasn't for me, Jason, sk8ter, and a couple others that are members of CEG, just about all these questions would go unanswered.

Thats the reason I'm here. No ones saying that AF isn't a quality car site, it's just that it's a poor place to find Contour information. If I were looking on google for contour info and saw contour.org followed by automotiveforums.com, the first link I would click on is contour.org.

Re: I have to wonder. Why post here instead of Contour.org?

Question and Title of this thread:
"I have to wonder, Why post here instead of Contour.org"

Answer:
Because people are free to ask in as many places their questions that might give them the better ratio of possible answers.

This situation happens throughout the net. Why, who knows, but I feel its mainly because the chances of getting an answer might be greater if posting the question in different forums. Its funny, but a long time ago, I was a member of one of the biggest forums dealing with my vehicle and posted a question. No one could answer it. I posted the same question in AF, and it got answered. Mind you, the AF one is one tenth the size of the other one. The chances that my answer would be answered in AF rather than the other one would seem small, but go figure, it was. Bottom line is that one never knows what they will find in other places, however small.
