93 dist. big/small cap ???

and is the pick-up anything like a 86 ???? Oh 305 T/B

Nope, 1993 would be small cap. External coil. See picture below - this is from my 1988 9C1 but it's representative of what you have.

Look at it. If it has a big cap, it's not factory. GM discontinued the big cap on Chevrolet V8 engined cars beginning in 1987. That is to say that beginning in 1987, all 305 and 350 Chevrolet blocks came with the small cap, with the exception of LT1 and L99 which have OptiSpark distributors that run off of the camshaft timing sprocket and are mounted behind the water pump. The only V8s that got the large caps beyond 1986 are the Olds 307s.
