2004 XJ8 stuck on Valet Mode

So my mom has an 04 XJ8 and my friend who's almost 20 acts like he's still in middle school. "What's Valet mode?" as he presses about every single button in my mom's car. Well turns out my mom can't get out of valet mode, and I've read that the older XJ8s you just stick the key manually in the trunk, but I believe on 04s there isn't a key hole in the trunk. Please help as my mom is now pissed cause her bank deposit slips are in the glove box and she can't put groceries or get anything out of her trunk!

Oh and also there was a recall on all the factory remotes, because the remotes don't lock and unlock the car, only the key portion works. So I know that you have to use the non-valet key to get it out of that mode, but my mom's key fobs aren't exactly up to par. She says she doesn't have time to go get the new keys.
