Question 91 LeBaron Rear driver's side (automatic) window slipping/not working

My rear, driver's side automoatic window slips down about 2-3 inches. I can pull it up but it works its way down.

All other windows work fine, but this one. I hear no motor action at all when attempting to roll it up or down.

Since I just recently had my last repair on my way too costly Camry, driver's side regulator/motor and window glass repaired/replaced at almost $500.... I found out I "coulda" done it myself... if only I had the time then. So NOW I want to attempt this with my "new" 91 LeBaron.

Any advice on this procedure? Pros? Cons? Ideas on repairing regulators/motors w/out replacing? Tips what to do? Tips what not to do? Time frame? (double or quadruple it because I'm probably much slower than you ace's out there and timid about not breaking/losing/bending parts).

By the way, the FINAL, LAST STRAW incident which made me decide to stop dumping money into the Camry was about 3 days after I got the window fixed when the power steering went out. Six months before that was a new radiator. And two months before that was major engine seal/leak repairs. A few months before that, THREE motor mounts were broken/replaced. And before that, a crazy ex busted my rear skinny window. I can't even remember the other stuff in between and I know there's more. In addition to the power steering, there are again, too many leaks to even consider having repaired. It gets too hot too fast. Smokes. Stinks. Feels a lot safer than the LeBaron, though, I must say.

I have more LeBaron questions/postings about:

Trunk locked w/no key, no code, and resistance to hiring a locksmith (for now... $)

Rear driver's side window (slips down a few inches and has no motor sound or movement). Replacement relatively simple?

Well, it sounds as if the window has run off its track...probably did so for a good reason and the good reason, I'm guessing, is that the regulator is broken. From the sounds of it, the window motor is dead as well. I have no idea on how to fix one, so my suggestion would be to purchase another. In order to get at the motor and regulator, you need to remove the panels on the side of the rear seat by taking out the screws tucked just behind the seat cushions, at the top of the door jams and inside the chrome clips on top of the panels. Once those panels are removed, you should have access to the whole kit 'n' kaboodle.
