Boost Leak or what?

k so i bought a boost gauge for it today. installed it correctly. ran about.. 10-12 pounds a boost. Then i shimmede the wastegate too add a couple more pounds a pressure and after i was done. took her oput and it was runnin about 13-15 then.. stopped at a redline after a bit of hard drivin and the most it will run if 8 if u hold it otu to redline.... Im thinkin its a boost leak but not 100% sure. if so, how do i test for it? i heard poor soap and water over all the charge pipes. Is that correct?

I forget the exact link but you can buy all the things at home depot or lowe's and make one yourself. Its basically an enclosed piece of rubber with a nipple and you run an air compresor to it and listen for leaks. Try a search on here....... vfaq.com or plymouthlaser.com or dsmtuners.com ... some sites I think sell them..try koumotorsports.com for that

Here is the link to the boost leak tester.... [url=http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html] I also put inline a pressure regulator so it will bleed the air in (10 psi)and not just blast 100 psi into your intake system...

Great "must have" item for any boosted car!

Re: Boost Leak or what?

I found the problem to be directed to the conecting rod from the wastegate to the exhasut manifold thing... the pin at the front fell out and the conecting rod popped off. Thanks for the help htoe guys. much appreciated
