Need advice about '95 Eclipse GST

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could advise me in my purchase of an eclipse. I'm on a pretty limited budget and am looking at older cars. I found one '95 Eclipse GST which I really like, also for cheap, but it had about 100,000 miles on it. I'm a kid and i'm not looking for something thats gonna last forever, but something to get me around for awhile.
I guess my main question would be, presuming the engine is in good shape, how do '95 eclipse GSTs hold up in the long run and are they cars that'll make it past 150,000 miles or further?

THANKS!

Re: Need advice about '95 Eclipse GST

I personally think it's a great car. My 95 spun a rod at 113,000 but I beat the f-in crap out of it. If you're not going to modify it much it will last for a while. Most turbo cars may be less dependable then a NA car just because of the additional moving parts and added complexity. Overall, as long as you keep it up, I don't see any reason it can't go 200k (The most I've seen on a turbo was a 90 with 230k).

I don't know if I would recommend that car to you. The whole "limited budget" thing might come back to hurt you with a car like that. Chances are you will run into problems with it because of it's age and mileage, so you might want to look at something a little more reliable. You would love the car and have a lot of fun with it, but it might not be in your best *economic* interest.

I just made that up, and I like it.
