Heater\AC unit removal
Can anyone help point me in the right direction to remove the heater\ac unit from under the dash. Not sure how many mounting bolts there are inside the engine compartment. Do the heater hoses and ac line need to be removed?

Re: Heater\AC unit removal
Well if its a 1973 Triumph then you just have to lay on your back and reach up under the dash so you can undo everything.
If its a Lotus Excell you have to start by removing the rear interior panels beside the back seat, then remove the back seat so you can get the centre consul out. Then you should be able to reach up under the dash with the help of a double jointed midget and get access to the assembly. But with out knowing what car you have its a little hard to be any more specific.

Re: Heater\AC unit removal
if you are removing everything completely and the a/c system is charged then your first stop is the a/c shop. tell them that you need the coolant recovered so you can open the system.

Just put a screw driver in the service port, the environment is fucked anyway.
