'93 s-10 starter removal?

i'm not much of a mechanic and am having trouble removing the starter from my '93 s-10 blazer. it's an auto., 4 wheel, 4.3 l. i've removed the 2 bolts that secure the starter as well as the wire attached to the solenoid, but there is not enough room to drop the thing down. everything i've read says i need to remove the cross member, but i have no idea where or what it is. very frustrating, please help.

Re: '93 s-10 starter removal?

if you'll search the forum, there have been people with the same issue...i found that removing the flywheel inspection cover will provide the room to manuver it out without removing the crossmember
