Question Spec-V ?'s

Maybe you guys can help me out. I'm looking for a new car and the spec-v is one of my current favorites. Just wondering what kind of fuel economy you guys really get? what grade do you use? ive done some research and everything that ive read says it needs premium.

Performance wise: Are the brembo upgrades worth it, over-rated, as good as it gets or can I stop quicker if i go aftermarket? Anybody have the nismo cam shafts, are they any good? what do they do to fuel economy and low rpm drivability(sp?)? i live in the city so the last thing i need is a rough engine during rush hour.

I know the questions are very noobish but i just started university and the last thing i need to is go out and blow a whole bunch of cash on something that i could get screwed and not like after the new car smell wears off ( the $ could be used on other things like rent, food, or most importantly alco....hmphm i mean tuition). Any help is welcome.

Re: Spec-V ?'s

lol, alright, i would still save some of your budget for alc *cough* tuition *cough* hol, but the spec is a great choice, ive had my 05 since april first and havent regretted it once, the knock sensor on the spec is very sensitive, you can run regular if you want, but you will get the most power out of premium, this comes from the knock sensor issue, regular gas sets the knock sensor off quicker than premium resulting in retarded timing and ultimately less power, this has been dyno proven of a difference like 15 hp, as for the brembo upgrade, cant say if its worht it or not, it already stops pretty damn quick, if you need to stop any faster you should already be considering aftermarket braking equipment anyways (i.e. autocross) dont have the camshafts either, but they are only good for about 8-10hp which you can get out of a balance shaft removal, and the shaft removal only costs like 80 bucks, i would pick up a cold air intake first, hell i would pick it up on the way home from the dealership, its not worth driving without one after youve been in it, the sound is amazing, also another thing you should consider is an aftermarket header, the precats on the spec headers have been known to explode and scar the cylinder walls, other than that its a beast, best bang for buck out there in my opinion as far as stock 4 cylinders go, only thing i think gets it is a srt4 with the elusive competition group, but thats another 9k away from the spec, any more questions feel free to pm me or post here again, you will make the right decision
