Shifting Problems Good God!

Recently I back ended an suv goign about 40 mph due to break failure...

anyways aside from the body damage I noticed that the shifting was really tight afterwards...

I had it toed to a body shop and they told me it doesnt shift into any gear at all and that it is stuck in a gear...

What does this mean...?
How serious is this...?
How can it be fixed...?

If anyone out there knows please get back to me...

thanks!!

Re: Shifting Problems Good God!

about 3 yrs ago, i had an integra gsr that i backed into a curb at about 15 mph with and i had the same problem. the shifting got terrible and it felt like it was grinding gears the whole time. it turns out that when i backed into the curb, it nailed my exhaust up into my engine and pushed against the gear box. sounds like the same kind of thing goin on with you. al they did was put it on a lift and use a press to pull it backwards into place and take the pressure off of my engine and what not. it was cheap and easy for the shop to do. good luck!

Well that sounds good! Where is the gear box exactly located?

Currently they are fixing the body, it should be done in about 5 days... The tranny prob. is a different story... I hope it as is easy as yours was to fix...
