Anybody have any ideas on how to get the screw of the rotor on really really tight?? my rotor fell off on saturday night, i got it back on and tightened the screw as far as much as i could. then tonight, it fell off again...? is there a special way to make the screw not back itself out?

Get a new screw.

It sounds like you've over tightened it and striped the thread in the shaft a little to much.

The only to proberly fix it is to get a new dizzy (ouch)
A good fix would be to redrill and retap the shaft. (time consuming, frustrating, and if you get it even a little bit wrong you will have to buy a new dizzy (ouch)


So I recomend you go buy some Loctite and use just a tiny drop on the end of the screw.

Yeah, back in Feb I was on my way to the shop to have a mysterious leak fixed and then as soon as I drove out of my complex my car died. I of course thought it was related to the leak. So then it was towed to the shop and I later found out the Distro Rotor fell off. And I had installed a new one a few days before and it seemed fine until that time. He said he had to retap it because it had stripped all the threats when it got flung off. He said he retapped and used Lock-Tight. So basically make sure you do that and you will have no problems as I have no in many many months. And later on I found the source of my leak and had that fixed to.

it must be that time of year for rotors to fall off. My friends CRX did the same thing just recently. He spent alot of money to get it towed down to my friends shop cuz he didn't wanna check it out himself...and here it was just a little rotor that fell off.

NOTE to all: Rotors on 4th gen civics have been known to come free. When installing a new rotor. Place 1 drop of loctie on the shaft, then one on the screw head and you'll be good to go. :flash:
