Question need help diagnosing

Folks, (please pardon any lack of vehicular lingo)

I've got a no-start problem on my '94 S-10 Blazer (4.3 L, V6). When I turn the key, I hear the engine cranking (you know, like the normal horse-whinnying sound that normally preceeds the engine turning over), but it fails to turn over.

I know this can be a lot of different problems, but here are some other details that might help narrow it down:
- I replaced the spark plugs about 4 or 5 months back
- This problem has gradually crept up on me. Over the past week, it has slowly taken longer and longer to crank the engine before it turned over (I should've dealt with it then), so this has been a gradually worsening situation

My guess is the starter motor...but then, would the engine crank at all if the starter was bad? I would appreciate your thoughts. My car's in a place where I can't get easy access to it, so any leads would be helpful for me to gauge if I should try this on my own or seek professional help.

As always, thanks!

Does it grind when you try to start that would be starter?
How about fuel pressure whats that at?
Are you a vortech with the cpi?

No grinding...just the normal engine cranking noise. I am indeed a vortech with a cpi (which, by the way, I had replaced with a new cpi last November...still under a year old).

She died on me in a grocery store parking lot just an hour ago, so I didn't have a chance to measure the fuel pressure.

Check you fuel pressure at the check valve. You should have around 65psi. When you replaced the CPI. Did you replace the Nut Kit as well?
