Stock battery 2000 Vitara
I bought a 2000 vitara this summer and I'm trying to figure out how old the battery is. Was the stock battery an Interstate 26R-50? If not, does anyone know how to decode the manufacture date on one of these? The Interstate website doesn't seem to give any indication.
If it's not the stock battery, then it shouldn't be old enough to be failing. Thanks |

Re: Stock battery 2000 Vitara
Just because a battery is young, doesn't mean it can't be failing. Repeated deep discharge will kill a car battery quickly. Also, who's to say it's not defective? I'd take it somewhere and get it load tested.

I had it load tested at Autozone. It was defective and replaced.
