In Progress: Opel Astra V8 Coupe

Here's my first WIP. So far I have only worked on the wheels and painted the majority of the parts that needed semi-gloss black.

Thanks for looking

Ronnie

Re: In Progress: Opel Astra V8 Coupe

Good luck on this one man. It's a fun kit! The interior is a bit drab though. Also, careful on the hood decals, I ripped the Gone in 60 Seconds one

Re: In Progress: Opel Astra V8 Coupe

Thanks for the comments guys.

deltableh - Thanks for the heads-up on the hood decal. I'll take note. Fortunately this model don't have decals that go over complex curves like some previous ones I have done (911-gt1, xanavi).

Re: In Progress: Opel Astra V8 Coupe

Here's some minor updates. I just did the brakes, seat and primed the body. I also decanted the TS-31. Hopefully I can start painting the body next week.

peace.

Re: In Progress: Opel Astra V8 Coupe

Great work on those decals. They were a huge pain for me!

The carbon fiber looks great. And is it me, or is that a very dark interior? It looks the same on mine, and bothers me.

Re: In Progress: Opel Astra V8 Coupe

Thanks for the comments Decal solvent stained the front windshield so lastnight, I decided to dunk it in future. I thought I wicked away the extra future on the part but when I checked it after a couple of hours, it colected around the bottom corners and it looks white. Hopefully after it fully cures it will be clear. Also the decal that tints the winshield on the inside wrinkled a little. Oh well, live and learn.

Very nice job ! I am also working on this kit, it is a very nice kit with lots of details. I like your CF job, it looks very realistic.
I'll show mine very soon !
