fan staying on all the time

ok help please. the radiator fan in my 01 grand am 3.4l randomly stays on and also when this happens the temp guage stays flat. I have a code reader to delete the code but I am not sure what to fix?????

welcome ltolf1. So is it throwing a code? and what is that if so, can tell ya what it is if I hav the code. But sounds like a sensor/relay on the fans gone bad.

no code

no code but the cars fan is randomly staying on then I clear the codes that dont exist and the fan turns off and the guage reads normal again???? any thoughts??

"sounds like a relay on the fans gone bad." check the box under ur hood. their are two relays ones probley stuck in an open cuircut ,the two fuses r in there too, but since the fans seem to work even random the fan its self would be fine.
