|
95 civic wont turn over, but stereo still comes on
my car wont turn over but lights and stereo still comes on, battery checked and is full. is it my starter or iginition switch

try hitting the starter with a hammer while trying to start it, takes 2 people unless you have remote start. If it starts, it's a bad starter.

Most likely the starter. Hit it like was suggested, and see if that works. That normally works if it is the solonoid, if it is the starter motor, you've got to replace it. You might be able to check for voltage to the starter with the help of another person to hold the key to the start position while you use a multimeter. That could tell you if it is the switch.
