Clicking sound when I turn right

OK, I did a search and got a few ideas, but please help guide me along if you can.

When I turn right and accelerate I can hear a clicking/popping sound. Nothing when I turn left OR if I let off the gas.

Ideas? I can do most any repair (I even did the notorious timing belt/water pump issue).

Thanks!

Re :Clicking sound when I turn right

Very good chance it is something in the front brakes, or CV joint. A visual inspection would be in order. If the boots on the CV joints are cracked or torn I'd suspect that - otherwise take off the front wheels and have a look for worn pads or loose/worn brake parts. If all that checks out it could even be a wheel bearing. 10-1 though with the sound you describe it is probably the CV.

Hope this helps!

Re: Clicking sound when I turn right

Leave the vehicle in park, jack up the front end and turn the tire back and forth, watching the knuckles (boot areas) of the CV joints and watch for excessive play. Mine had a lot of play in them and when I took them off one of them pretty well was crunching itself to pieces on the inside even though it wasnt making any strange noises.

Re: Clicking sound when I turn right

It sound like my,
If it clicking/noise only when you TURN AND ACCELERATE and no noise when you go straight or turn with out accelerate then that is your CV joints, look into your right CV joint, inner one, whether the boot is good or not, pop it and check to see if any grease left in it, chances are it dry, if it dry, remove the entire shaft assembly to see if it rebuildale,
Most of the time, these CV shafts are rebuildale, I’ll walk you throu if you need.

You might check your strut bearing plate. That's what I've tracked my noise to after checking sway bar bushings, ball joints and CV joints.
