67 brake problem

I have a 67 beetle and have installed new brakes. Everything from the master cylinder to the wheel cylinders is new. I am having problems bleeding the system. I tried to bench bleed the master but it proved a challange and am not sure I was successful. All connections are tight through the system and am getting fluid out of the bleeder valves but I am not getting any pressure at the peddle so I am assuming my problem is at the master. I have done brakes for a long time but never on a beetle so I am at a loss. Any suggestions?

just keep bleeding them.you probably still have air in the system

I have never had trouble with a cars braking system (bleeding) until I ran across my Bug.I changed master cylinders numerous times,tried different brands of brake fluid,used bleeder hoses/vacuum guns,you name it.I didnt reach success until I switched to front disc brakes.I dont know why,but the lousy drum brakes wouldnt bleed correctly.I partially blame the poor bleeding on the location of the master cylinder (near the bottom of the pan,whereas every other car has its master higher than any of the wheels).

I had the same problem and i just switched the front to disk and they have been working great ever since.
