Power Window
I had my power window motor replaced in Feb. 05 @ a cost of $134.00 Cdn. part and $120.00 Cdn. labour and then today I here something fall inside the door and the window will not go down but I can here the motor humming. I go over a bump and the widow falls down 1/2 way. I have to manually lift it back to the closed position because of course today it is RAINING!!
My question is this shoddy workmanship, used parts, or something else? Also should I take it back to the same mechanic who put this motor in? Do you think there will be a charge if I do have him fix this problem after all it has only been 7 months? Thanks in advance for any and all advice. Dorathy |

before you do anything, check your invoice. it should tell you what kind of warrenty the repair has. if you supplied the part, it may not be covered by the warrenty.

Re: Power Window
my guess is that one of the tracks are loose. On my 95, the passenger door has a broken rivet on one of the tracks causing the same problems.

Re: Re: Power Window
Well it turns out it was shoddy workmanship. Pulled the door apart on the weekend and found 4 nuts bolts and washers laying in the door gully or fell to the pavement. Turns out this guy didn't use lock washers nd this caused one after another to eventually come loose do to normal use. Replaced all with slightly longer bolts and lock washers and all is well.
Any Comments?? Dorathy |
