Front End Noise
My 2002 Envoy started making an annoying rattle in the front suspension when hitting road bumps. GMC dealer couldn't find it. It's stopped now, but it now has a distinct lose suspension part somewhere, it really jolts when hitting the smallest road bump. I saw on the web that there may be a recall for the "lower control arms", but the dealer said he's not aware of a recall. Could this be the problem area?

Thanks Tom. I'll jot that down and ask the mechanic. Any ball park figure on cost$ ?

Re: Front End Noise
I had the same issue with my 03 envoy. It always sounded like there was a squeak/rattle in the front suspension when traveling at low speeds. It ended up being my hood and all I did was adjust the rubber hood stops buy turning them out (counter clockwise).

Mine did the same thing. They adjusted teh hood stops and it still didnt go away. Turned out to be a bad sway bar end link.

Mine turned out to be worn sway bar "links". About $140 to repair the pair. But did the job. These links apparently fail frequently on Envoys. |
