SS/SC Vs. Firebird Raceway
New times are in from tonight w/ KN CAI.
Run #1 r/t-.276 60-2.407 330-6.433 1/6-9.630 mph-69.58 1000-12.385 1/4-14.699 mph-98.16 Run #2 r/t-.617 <--I feel asleep or something 60-2.503 330-6.473 1/8-9.671 mph-76.49 1000-12.418 1/4-14.745 mph-98.08 These are the numbers from the supercharged qaud-4 cavy that I ran against in the second run. He's a buddy of mine. It's a 4 door auto. This was the best time he's ever cut in his car. He beat me by a bit cause of the launch and I just about had him at the end, but ran out of track. By 3rd gear I was reeling him in hard but it wasn't enough. r/t-.594 60-2.143 330-6.147 1/8-9.401 mph-75.12 1000-12.242 1/4-14.666 mph-93.29

It was 79 degrees out and I was using 91 octane. Look at the horrendous 60 foot times. I could run 60 feet faster than that. There is no such thing as launching a stock SS. So much wheel hop it caused my car's brake light, and ABS warning light to come on. They both stayed on till I shut it off then restarted...

Re: SS/SC Vs. Firebird Raceway
Typical GM... can't launch for shit.
Unless it's a Corvette. Fbody's suck balls at launching in stock form. My 60's aren't any better. 2.3-2.4 is my average. Plus shitty 245 tires outback... bleh.

Re: SS/SC Vs. Firebird Raceway
Hey, imagine if you had a set of 18's with rubber bands for tires. Then you'd really be in a world of hurt, heh.

Re: SS/SC Vs. Firebird Raceway
My best 60' foot time was a 2.1xx on street tires. Just takes practice. I tend to average around a 2.2xx.

Re: SS/SC Vs. Firebird Raceway
good times man. If you could get those 60's down you would be whole lot faster. When i first when to the track with my supercharger i ran a 2.0 60ft, that managed to get me a 14.7, later that night i ran a 2.3 and a 15.1. With the same MPH.

Re: SS/SC Vs. Firebird Raceway
I need a rear-end...then slicks and I will be good to go with 1.7xx 60's.
That was a funny run. I could barely believe the slip. I knew it was bad....but I didn't think it was that bad.
