Thumbs up Gear box failure! HELP! Please.

Hello, everyone. I have a serious problem with my Mitsubishi 1990 3000GT. My gear box suddenly stops working this morning. I can not get the car into any gear. The gear stick is just like a spoon in a cup which can be spin around without any resistance. Please help me. Could any one tell me what’s the problem might be and any way to fix it? Thanks very much.

Look and see if your shift linkage is still in one piece.

I agree. Your linkage is broken.

Chances are there is nothing actually wrong with the gearbox itself, just the cables or rods that control it.

Try posting in the Mitsu sub forum at AF and you may get a more specific answer on how to repair this problem.
