Hi, I have a 1995 S-10 4cyl 5 speed. My problem is when I head out to go anywhere the clutch pedal works fine. If I drive it more than 20 minutes, the clutch pedal is real hard to depress and it is very difficult to shift. If driven more than 20 minutes, might as well forget about shifting, the pedal is too stiff and it's real hard to get it out of one gear or another. After it cools down for a couple of hours, it works fine again. Would it be clutch or slave cylinder or something else? Thanks for any help.

Re: Clutch or Slave Cylinder??
I would just try bleeding the clutch and see what happens. Your problem might just go away.
I've never heard or seen a clutch act like that, and other than the fluid being really dirty I won't try to guess. |

Well I bled the clutch and still the same. So went out and bought a slave cylinder, changed it, bled it, and still the same. Someone said it could be the pressure plate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Clutch or Slave Cylinder??
Could be the pressure plate, could be the throw out bearing froze up, and I suppose it could be the arm that runs to the throw out bearing is froze up for some reason.
I had an 85 Blazer 5 speed manual, 2.8 engine. Never had no clutch troubles, but had much trouble with the slave cylinder and transmission. Replace the slave cylinder about 4 times, completely replaced the transmission once, seems the 85's has a very sorry transmission, if one has trouble with it, you throw it away and get a new one.
