rally cross racing taurus?
Hey ive got a 97 taurus gt (modified gl) and ive been wanting to get into some basic form of racing. rallycross racing seems to be the most affordable as i dont need to heavilly modify my car or but rally tires. the thing im wondering is if a vulcan taurus mildy modified would even stand a chance in the pure stock category( oh by the way, rallycross is a track laid out on a flat dirt parking lot with enough turns and stuff that u generally cant go over 35 or 40 mph, and it is a timed event. any ideas?

Re: rally cross racing taurus?
I'd be worried about the transmission. The AX4S in the vulcan is notoriously weak. You might also want to worry about the control arms and tie rods, since they aren't very strong either.

Re: rally cross racing taurus?
oh dont worry about the transmission, it already lost overdrive, and reverse shutters. but the car was free, and its my first car so im not to worried about it breaking. ill just move to the next junker i pimp out lol
are there any replacement control arms and tie rods i could put on? im not finding much for performance parts besides what ive done so far |

Re: rally cross racing taurus?
I thin control arms are as good as you can get. Tie rods from a Continental might be thicker and fit.
