98 TC Headlights

I purchased a used 98 TC and my only concern were the head lights, as I have had problems in the past seeing at night.

The salesmanager told me that there was a conversion available from the OEM system to the newer system, as the mounting of the headlamp assemblies were the same.

I went on a trip with the my new purchase, and upon returning I went to see the salesmanager about the conversion. I was told he had left the dealership, and no one had any idea what he was talking about.

The headlamps on the newer model sure do look like they would fit, but I know next to nothing about doing it.

Is this a possibility, or am I just another victum of a sales pitch.

A conversion to HID can run from the low to mid $1000's. Those are the super white, blinding, obnoxious lamps used in the high end vehicles of today.

The best you can do for your 1998 without breaking the bank is Osram / Sylvania, SilverStar High Performance Bulbs.

You might be able to find them at the WallMarts or some Auto Parts outlets, and their on eBay for sure. Their about $30 +/- for a set of two.

These are about 30% brighter than the stockers. Don't get suckered into anything else, the SilverStar's are the only lamp that'll give you what you want. Because they burn brighter, you might find yourself replacing them more often than stockers, especially if you drive with them on all the time.

My 1996 runs the 9007 (HB5) Dual Filament style:
