Anyone know a good, inexpensive place to find a flasher unit for my 95 wagon? This is a seven terminal unit which has separate relays & control circuitry for right and left. Left is now blinking so fast that the lamps won't even light up. I do not need a ticket, and no one local seems to know where to find one of these. And PLEASE don't tell me the dealer! Imasen 3211-167-320 is the mfg info. Used also in Probe & some Mazda.
If I had time I could maybe try to troubleshoot the transistors, diodes, capacitors, etc. & just repair the silly thing- but I bet the components on there probably won't be easy to find, plus I will be pushing the limits of my electronic talent. Anyone have any ideas? Is there an superceded part #/upgrade I'm not hearing about? $75 for a flasher is excessive- when it can even be found. Most online sources lack details & pictures so shelling out that kind of cash & waiting this long just to be uncertain if it is even the correct part is ridiculous. Ugh!!! |

For something that expensive I'd go to a salvage yard. You're right about the dealerships. They're a rip-off.

Re: replacement flasher for 95 wagon?

So what do people do for these? There must be something better. I'd seriously consider adapting it to use a relay and regular bimetallic flasher, but found one which went unsold on e-bay recently- from a Mazda. I contacted the seller, it was still available, so I am having it mailed to me for a very reasonable price. |
