well my buddy just bought him self a 00 ss camaro and damn it's a sweet ride well we raced twice i took him on the first run but the second run he launched good and took me by a carlength now my question is what in the hell do i have to do to smoke a ss. I've seen this guy who did the lt4 conversion with a rear mounted turbo and he's pushing over 500rwhp. so i'm willing to take any suggestions

Re: 95z28 Vs 2000 Ss

Quick easy and cheap route would be Nitirous.

For general more power doing the LT4 swap and upgrading internals fuel system etc

For lotsa power: All of the above w/ turbo(s) but of course you are looking at 6-10k$$$$

Re: 95z28 Vs 2000 Ss

Yeah i know nitrous is the easiest route but i hate having to depend on the bottle. i'm thinking of just going with the remote mount turbo. It's only 2,900 bucks so i think i'm going with the turbo. how much psi can a lt1 with strong enternals.

Re: 95z28 Vs 2000 Ss

Strong internals don't always mean you can run more boost.
If you have upgraded internals, you should also know what compression ratio you are running at. That is overall the most important determining factor to how much boost you can run.

My WS.6 will be 11:1 compression with a fully forged motor. I wouldn't be able to run much boost at all on it. Maybe 5 PSI. And that might be pushing it, although it would make very good numbers.

Luos isn't the lower compression engines better for turbo, right?

7-8 range. A civic can take 12psi on stock internals.

Re: 95z28 Vs 2000 Ss

List off all of your mods?. So I know exactly what you have done cause if your that close and the only way he beat you is by hooking real well. Your most likely already faster but with just a few more mods to compliment the mods you already have. You should be able to beat his with relative ease.

Re: 95z28 Vs 2000 Ss

Tranny shifts firm , as in has shift kit or just that its healthy?. Did you do the little free mods. Like TB bypass and IAT relocator?. Do you platinum plugs in there?. cause if so, ask around. Most LT1's have found 5 horse from switching to non platinum. Some 1.6 roller rockers with give you about 10 horse alone (probably more cause of your supporting mods) and a more aggressive cam, you will distroy him. I don't get why you didn't get a cam when you had the heads off though and did they change your head hardware (springs, studs , rockers & so on) when they ported?
