2001 sonoma max wheel size

Well, this is my first thread. I was told this is a good forum to come too if I have a question, so here it is. I just bought a 2001 Sonoma 4.3L Vortec ext. cab, I'm excited because it's my first truck. Anyway, the tires will probably need to be replaced soon, and since the truck sits a little low, I want to put the max tire size on there to bring it up a little. The addition to the height will help in towing my boat. Does anyone have any information on this or know of someplace to go to ask? I've got Uniroyal P205/75R15 on there right now. Thanks!

you can go to 30x10 without any rubbing, or possibly 31 if you can raise it a little bit via body lift or torsion bars (tbars if you're a 4x4)

Re: 2001 sonoma max wheel size

I have 215/75/r15 on my 2000 2wd 4.3L. Am also looking for anyone's opinion for a decent snow and MUD tire (had potenza's many years ago on a car that were great). Current snows are crappy for the muddy sideroad conditions here.

I just bought all brand new BFGs All-Terrain T/As...and they rock in the snow..I live in Wisconsin and it's snowin like a mother up here, i don't have weight in the back of my truck and I've hardly slipped at all if not none at all. Plus those tires look badass...i bought the 215/75r/15s but you should get 235s if you can...they look fatter and sweeter! They were 89 bucks apiece at sears...hope that helps!

Thumbs up Re: 2001 sonoma max wheel size

EXCELLENTFEEDBACK!! I was looking at the same ones but wasn't sure how they'd be. 89 bucks?? OMG best price I've seen here is $140 each. Am a little concerned about going bigger in tire as it can throw the speedo out. Have you found that to be true in any great degree?

Yeah it does throw the speedo off a bit...there are two ways to go about dealing with that though...you can A)Have your local shop calibrate it again for about 40 bucks..or B)Be lazy like me and just find the speed limit watchers that the cops put out and look at your actual speed compared to your speedo..haha. Yeah those tires were on sale so I'd check Sears quick to see if they're on sale where you live. Hope that helps!
