TCC Circuit Malfunction

My service engine light has been on and off for a few months now (bad, I know). I took it to an automotive place that will put it on a tester free of charge to find out what's wrong. I was told that the error is a "TCC Circuit Malfunction".

I am having trouble finding out what this really means, how your vehicle acts when this is a real problem (to make sure this is what it really is), what parts to get to fix it, approximately how much the part costs, and instructions on how to perhaps repair that problem myself.

Can anyone help?

the tcc circiut consist of a relay and a soliniod in the tranny. the torque converter clutch locks up the torque convert so that it will not slip after you are up to operating temp. and speed.also the is a speed sensor .that tell the computer when to turn on the tcc.at 70 mph it should be reving 4000rpm if you have a three speed transmission.if you have a four speed i dont know what you should be reving.because i have a three speed automatic transmission.
