2000 Jimmy SLE: Alarm

I have the standard alarm that comes with the keyless entry. Unless I am not setting the alarm correctly, I think wires are crossed. I lock the car with the remote. Click once: the locks lock. Click twice: the horn beeps. If someone lifts the handle on the outside of the door, the alarm does not go off BUT if the windows are open and someone pulls the inside door handle to open the door, the alarm goes off. If I am setting it wrong, let me know. If its the connections, tell me specifically what I should tell the mechanic. I don't want him searching and charge me for the time he spent not finding anything!

Thanks

Elizabeth

Re: 2000 Jimmy SLE: Alarm

That is all it does, it only detects if the doors were unlocked or opened without the key being inserted into the key hole, or by use of the remote.

Alarm OK

That's how it's supposed to work. Mine is same. If someone breaks your window & reaches in to open the door, the alarm goes off.
