creaking front end

I've got a '03 trailblazer ext, 2wd that has developed a creaking noise when decelerating hard or quickly. If I physicaly push up and down on the front of the car, no noise. Shocks do not seem to be bad, (40k mi.). I could use new front brakes, but I have never heard brakes make this sound before. Any help?

Re: creaking front end

Sounds like either swaybar links or bushings. Both are know issues with the GMT-360/370 platforms. I have an annoying sqeak that sounds like metal on metal when turning sharply or going over unpaved roads. I know on my TB that it is the front swaybar links, and maybe also the bushings, but I am going to replace my links here soon, as the noise is driving me crazy!!

Re: creaking front end

Get em from Napa, cheaper than oe and have grease fittings. On the squeak, watch the hood lock seen these cause squeaks in the front, more so than suspension.
