1993 power steering pressure hose

Has anyone had any dealings with replacing the pressure hose assembly for the power steering?
I can pick up the hose assembly at a local auto parts store, but I haven't had any experience with power steering issues.
I'm not sure whether to tackle this myself or take it to a mechanic.

Any input/tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah had trouble with those last spring.

The inexpensive way to deal with your problem is taking the hoses of of your truck, since they don't make them anymore take them to a hydraulic specialist near you.

Have them cut off the fittings and ask them to mount them to high pressure rubber hose with high pressure clamped seals. it should take them two hours or less to do if they ain't busy and it will save you from getting a set custom made,

That cost me a hundred, P.S. make shure you ask them to make em not to long but a few inches longer than the original metal set your taking off. it is rubber and tricky to foul around with but it wont ever rust or burst.

Oh, yeah by the way keep the clamps that fasten them to your frame you can use the to put it all back together once you get them back.

Sorry wont make a novel of it but you can do the same thing with most high pressure hoses on your vehicle, A/C, etc.... Save you a bundle!!!

My truck is also a 1993.
I took it to Choice Automotive in Raleigh, NC. They got a High-pressure power steering pump hose made by (somebrand,not Nissan) for the Nissan truck. The hose and Labor total was $189.00
I couldn't have done it myself for less.
Those guys have my Repair bus. when it's something I don't have the time, patience or tools to handle.
