Lightbulb Did you know that you already beat worse odds than winning the lottery?

A lot of people won't play the lottery because they think that there's no chance that they might accually win.
(I happen to be one of these people myself) But hardly anyone has taken a moment to contemplate that they've already beaten odds a billion times worse.

If somewhere down your family tree your great, great, great.....grandmother/grandfather had done even one thing different in their lives you would not be here reading this. It would take but a momment for a different sperm to reach that egg.

So as bad as things might get in your life, take a second to think,
and appreciate being here.

Re: Did you know that you already beat worse odds than winning the lottery?

Every sperm is not the same! One arguing point alone is that sperm decide the gender of the offspring. Boy / Girl what's the difference right?

Re: Did you know that you already beat worse odds than winning the lottery?

yes they are. all of them contain your genetic information wrapped in cellurar material and a long flagella and they have nothing to do with male/female. the gender does not occour until way later. the baby has a generic nub. and if the cromosomes then decide what to be. and the nub becomes a penis if it is a boy, and a clitoris if it is a girl.

Re: Did you know that you already beat worse odds than winning the lottery?

But the X / Y cromosome decision is pre determined by the sperm. Are you also saying that if any sperm inseminated the egg that the child would turn out exactly the same regardless?

Just a little off topic, my girlfriend loves your car and wants one. Do you know off hand what years Toyota had that body style for the Celica? How reliable has that car been for you? They sure hold thier value. It's hard to find one cheap.

Re: Did you know that you already beat worse odds than winning the lottery?

yea it was made from 90-93. it has almost 180000 miles on the origional engine and is still running strong. i bought this car with 150k for 1800 dollars and the only things ive had to fix was the alternator and my radiator just recently. there are 4 diffrent styles for that year
st-1.6 105hp, coupe
gt-2.2 130hp/140tq, coupe or hatchback
gt-s-2.2 130/140, hatchback, flared fenders, sport suspension and many other options.
alltrac-2.0 turbo 200hp/tq awd, hatchback, very rare

the hatches are generally better looking and the gts and alltrac have the flared fenders which are also nice.

Re: Did you know that you already beat worse odds than winning the lottery?

200 hp in a small car like that, no wonder they used to win all the time in rally racing! There's one I've seen running around with a scoop on the hood. Is that something aftermarket, or was that on the alltrac?
