Tail Light leaks

94 Park Avenue. My tail lights are all fogged, etc. Picked up new gaskets, but I need some hints on getting to them. I took the screws off of the long strip on top that released only the top of the large crome piece surrounding the lights. So where do I go from there? I couldn't see any other obvious screws etc.

Thanks for the help

Smorey

Re: Tail Light leaks

Take the inner trunk lining off the back and you will see the rest of the nuts on studs. Remove all the nuts and pull off the wiring harness. You then should be able to remove the whole assembly.

Re: Tail Light leaks

I found a lot of rust on the trunk rear panel where the lamp attaches. There is a low spot in the lamp housing and the water runs off the trunk side weatherstrip and collects there. I sealed the top of the lamp trim to keep the water out.

Re: Tail Light leaks

If you still have water after that seal job, you may have to remove the nuts frome inside the trunk and coat the studs with a silicone and reinstall. I went through the same process on a 92 PAU, when I had to replace the whole tail light assembly.
