I have a 1975 Omega and need to have the heater core replaced. Can anyone tell me how long this should take and about how much I should be charged? I don't want to get skrewed on this and really I don't know what I should pay for this job although I understand it is quite involved. It's just getting really cold here in Colorado and I need to get this done, but don't have alot of money to throw into it.....Any one have suggestions for me?

Re: 1975 Omega
Why not replace it yourself. It is not difficult. All you need are a few screwdrivers, a drain pan, a new core and some know how. A Chiltons service manual would help. Your local library might have one.
A mechanic should charge about 2-3 hours labour, about $50 for the part and some coolant. |
