94 3kgt SL hard shifting
hi, im new in the forum. at times, shifting to first and second gear has gotten to be really hard, but later on, it shifts normally. what do you guys think it is, and if it needs gear oil, can you guys tell me were and how to.

You might want to try changing your gear oil. Mine used to do the same thing when I first start driving but after the oil warms, it usually shifts a bit smoother. After I changed my gear oil though, the shifting improved a lot! I changed to BG Synchro Shift II if you're wondering.

Go ahead and change out your gear oil. There's a plug on the passenger side of the transmssion (its big)...it's the drain plug. When all the oil is drained put that plug back in, and there's a plug on the front of the transmission (about in the middle) for filling...you fill until the oil comes out of that hole. Use 75-90w oil

I bought 3 just to be safe but only ended up using 2. I would still recommend 3 for in case you spill something or need a bit more in the future.
Also, make sure you remove the fill plug before you take off the drain plug. If you drain it first and can't get the fill plug off, you're screwed. Good luck. |

hey thanks alot, its like butter again. it also needed some fluid for the clutch, other than that, its back to normal
