60v fuse

i got a 91 crx just bough, was running good 'til today that i found it totally dead and i also found out the main fuse 60 v blown any reason for that to happen?

wire is grounding somewhere.

60 amp. Something probably grounded out like said above, replace it and see if it does it again.

How much could you really save on a fuse that costs about a $1 new?

about $5 new. your problem isnt the fuse. replacing the fuse and not dealing with the grounding out problem will just lead to replacing the fuse again.

Just because the fuse go doesnt automatically mean a wire is grounding out, electronics can fluxuate and have current surges which could lead to a blown fuse. The best thing to do is to look for bare wires, if you dont find any replace the fuse. If it pops again look farther if not then dont worry about it.

true, any slight flunctuation could have caused it. even if it was brief.

if it were me and the 60A fuse went out, and because it sends power particularly of interest to the ignition, ecu, and main relay, id personally check it for continuity to a ground source and check it just so it is properly recieving voltage. that way, i can have a piece of mind when im far away from home driving the car. but, thats just me. i just like doing it right the first time around

The main fuse is also branched out into smaller fuses, so there is only a few things (such as the starter) that can blow it, it will blow the smaller fuse first.

but if it wasnt the starter specifically that was causing the flunctuations, and, if the wire was grounding it will still blow the fuse. either way, a 2 minute check for continuity and voltage is a good amount of time to make sure things working correctly.
