Battery? starter?

Hello
My chums boy has a 97 and left it parked for a month, then tried to start it. He said i would almost start but he killed the battery. He said he tried boosting it and it would roll over good but would not start. I went and cleaned the battery terminals, then tried to start it. Nothing, not even a click, tried boosting it with the same result. Charged the battery full but same result. The lights wont even come on.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

remember there is a secondary wire on the ground side that must be attached to the fire wall, also double check the terminal connections
