turbo
ok i'm saving up for a turbo to put in my 2.2l 97 cav.
should i install a new exhaust before i do this sincei ts going to be pushing more air? also is this turbo something me and a friend can install. i like to think we are pretty decent on working on cars, but neither of us have ever messed with a turbo. also from the pics i've seen it looks as if the turbo pulley is in the same place the alternator was. do you have to relocate the altenator for this? |

Do you even know how a turbo works? It will require lots of headache, money, lots of time, and some fabrication know how to turbo a NT especially a 2.2. Go look for how a turbo car works before you worry about modding. You will need oil lines, possible coolant lines, the turbo itself, a new exhaust manifold, exhaust from the turbo back, bigger injectors, fuel pump, some sort of logging device, a fuel controller, the list goes on and on. My advice: on a 2.2 OHV dont waste your time or your money.

Re: turbo
All I have to say is, turbo pulley, LMAO!
Silly wabbit, pulleys are for superchargers. Actually, a supercharger would be less headache and more reliable than a turbo, just not as cool as a turbo IMO. |

Re: turbo
Do they make blowers for a 2.2 ohv? I guess a centrifugal wouldn't be outlandish, but I just didn't think anyone made one.

With a turbo there would be quite a bit of stuff you would need new just like the second guy who posted in the forum was. I forgot who it was and I don't feel like looking back. Go with SC. It would be more reliable like the other or same guy said. Less hassle. |

Re: turbo
don't be pissed that my car is going to be a hell of a lot faster than yours...i have yet to fully change my mind yet, after reading up on it, it seems as if its not that hard of an install. but if the sc is easier and its got better bottom end then where do i find one, and do they even make one for the 2.2L?

Re: turbo
RSM racing sellings a supercharger kit for the 2.2L, and i think your too retarded to do this on your own. If you dont know the difference between a turbo and a supercharger, just stick to really really really simple mods.

Re: turbo
Blech...RSM's got a centrifugal charger. Not a fan of those things.
