More Power!!!
I've got a rt tt with a 3 inch downpipe and exhaust, k/n filter, and a mbc set @ 14.5 psi's. My car feels great but i want a little more power and I was thinking about adding nitrous to my list of mods. I was wondering what is the best set up for my rt, should I run the wet kit or the dry kit, and how much can I shoot safely? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

no...Bad noobie...NO...u do that outside!!
No nitrous, unless you can afford new engines every year...especially running 14.5 psi. ![]() But if you must, dry shot is safer (I think, dont take my word on that)...and I would say start with a 75 shot.

Re: More Power!!!
at 14.5 psi you have no more fuel left, so you would have to go wet.

Re: More Power!!!
twizted man, nitrous doesn't ruin engines, idiots with too much nitrous ruins engines... if you're going to use nitrous I'd say only do a small amt. like a 50 shot... if you want you could get bigger injectors, and a bigger fuel pump, so that you could run a bigger shot of nitrous??? don't quote me on that... if you upgrade the injectors and pump you may need to upgrade the ECU????
But IMO if you're gonna' use nitrous go with a 50 shot.... I thought I heard that a wetshot is better for your engine than a dry??? can someone please clarify which is better?

Re: More Power!!!
rocker there is no ecu upgrade, short of a full replacement like the AEM EMS. Most everything else is a piggyback.
Both wet and dry can be good for different applications, but generally wet is safer and easier, so people recommend it. I'd go with wet, 75 tops. I'd also be on the safe side and get 2 switches for it. 1 for WOT and 1 for RPMs, and set the minimun for like 2500 or 3k...just to be on the safe side. If you think about going bigger, I'd suggest better pistons.

Re: More Power!!!
with a dry system ou are relying on the injectors to add fuel for the Nitro, ie the ECU senses lean and richend it up to run safely. A wet system has both a Nitrous and a Fuel solenoid and adds fuel to compensate for the Nitrous. For a beginner a wet system is safer. I would start with dropping boost to min, and spraying 50 shot. log and watch your logger carefully. then you can slowly add boost and maybe a bit more fuel as you watch that it dosent go all to hell and destroy your motor.
Nitrous when used properly is perfectly safe. where you get into problems is when a newb grabbs a Honda, dropps a 250 shot i\on it and sprays all the time with out watching his tune. that is a motor that wont last. I ran a 200 shot on my 71 Mustang for about 3 years with no problems, and had a 100 shot on my GSXR750 for 4 years. once again no problems. Thsn I got my first RX-7.... Diddnt watch my logger, was running on the fringe of lean, hit the juice button floored it and blew my apex seals off both rotors. simply because I diddnt watch my tune. take your time, watch you logger data, and juice to your hearts content.
