Unhappy Rough idle problem When engine light comes on

My car runs normal with a normal idea when the Engine Light is off. When ever you are in transit and the engine light comes on the car will like too die at a complete stop. I put on foot on the brake pedal and give it gas so it doesn't die. Sometimes I would pull over and just turn off switch to stop engine and restart it. It seems flooded for 3 or 4 secs then it starts and runs fine with engine light is off. I already replace the MAP sensor. Also, I have lost power going up hills and kicks sometimes. My question is what does the community think the problem could be and resolve it?

MAP is good place to start.

You probably tried this...Get it scanned. The fact the your engine light is on meens you have a sensor malfunction and data should be stored in to computer. Maybe cam/crank position sensor?

Lightbulb Update to problem

I own a Snap-On Automotive Diagnostic O-scope and checked compression, voltage, dwell graph, RPM's, and fuel injection.

Next with a DMM, I measure the resistance on each fuel injection terminal to verify that I have 2.8 to 4.0 ohms across the fuel infectors. Then I took out each one to check for carbon build-up. The only thing I came across was the ICA voltage was incorrected when key switch was on. I have replace that item and so far it has fix the problem.

Yes, I do have a code retriever and nothing electrical doesn't come up with an error or malfunction. Yes, I believe the problem with not enough power for larger hills could of been the emission problem I had with my fuel injectors. I bought some lucas fuel injector cleaner and it did the job with the composites that was house on the injectors. So now I do feel a increase in power. Thanks community and I hope my problem will solve someone elses problem also.
