Angry Dash light dont work!!!

Hi, I own a 92 Bird and about six months ago my dash lights
simply stopped working! Well every time I replaced the blown fuse
it would just blow again as soon as a turned the head lights on!
they worked half assed before, the only problem is when I would play my
stereo with the lights ON the dash lights would not work but when I killed the power on the stereo they would come back on ! I realize
that I have a short but I cant seem to locate it! Does anyone have any feed back? I dont really want to dis mantle the whole dash board If
anybody knows the general location of where my short may be I would be very greatful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanx,
SilverWing

Re: Dash light dont work!!!

I would hazard a guess that the short is somewhere in the car. Seriously, I would check the wiring to the radio first. I'll bet it is an aftermarket radio. It's hard to diagnose a problem like this without seeing the car because you can't tell what kind of hack job may have been done to the wiring harness. It sounds like you have the dashlight feed going to a wrong wire at the radio. If you disconnect the radio does the fuse still blow?
