Re: I Need 4 Gauge Wire!!!

4 guage wire is 4 guage wire, even a hardware store would have it, and probably even cheaper than an audio store.

Home Depot Special
not the most flexible but all copper 4 guage conducts the same so if you are pinching pennies pau $0.70 per foor instead of $3+ a foot.

Re: I Need 4 Gauge Wire!!!

Hardware store cable blows ass, it has like 5 strands and you need a damn vice to bend it to the shape you want. If you're going to go the cheap way out at least get welding cable (local welding shop or from www.weldingsupply.com)

Re: I Need 4 Gauge Wire!!!

depends on the hardware store I guess. My local hardware store sells the flexable thicker guage wire. Not the crap that has 5 solid copper strands in it that doesnt bend without a vice. Just as long as it has enough coating on it so if it gets pinched somewhere it doesnt short out too easily.

Re: I Need 4 Gauge Wire!!!

Hell walmart sell a kit for 20 bucks. If your after some wire then go to autozone they have wire for a good price, harware stores but the welding supply would be the best its extremely flexible becasue of the current that it has to carry and the heat that it can generate. JCwhitney sells it in 25, 50 and 100 foot spools, so does summit and ebay should have it even cheaper.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: I Need 4 Gauge Wire!!!

Walmart's wiring kits aren't very good. Their wire is smaller than specified and has a very thick jacket to make it appear better. In fact the cross sectional area of copper in their 4awg wire is very similar to that of real 8awg wire. Just be wary using it, wire is wire pretty much, but not when they're different sizes.

Re: I Need 4 Gauge Wire!!!

should i just buy it online? how is this?

I know knukonceptz is good, but is this wire right?

http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...?prodID=KOL4YE

cheapest 4 gauge they have (im guesisng its 99 cents instead of 1.04 like the other one cuz yellow isnt very popular?)

ya the blue one want has like 1058 strands, that has 2000 whatever

so is that good? cna i use that as a ground wire also?

how big do i need about 25 feet? (ground should be around 3 feet right?) i need more than 17 feet for the power

Re: I Need 4 Gauge Wire!!!

You could get that if you wanted. I'm not a fan of knukonceptz personally, they make cheap, crappy products that fall apart. Their wire is fine though, it's hard to screw up wire. If you're planning on getting the rest of the stuff with it (fuse holder, fuses, distro, rcas, etc) then I would go elsewhere. I personally use www.darvex.com and stick to Stinger equipment (except for fuse holders and distros normally, there is cheaper out there that is just as good, as long as it doesn't fall apart like knu).
