Mclaren F1 Owner's Manual

I found one somewhere and I was wondering how much are these things worth? (Too bad I don't have an unlimited budget, but I kinda don't want to spend too much) Thanks for any information.

I had been watching it through the week and was rather surprised to see it sitting at about £17.00 almost till the end. I had a bid ready to fire of £372.00, however it never went in because by that point the price was already much higher.

If you haven't gone back to look, it closed at £770.00, or roughly $1,357.28. I think that may be the highest price I have seen one sell for, and this is (I think) the third time I have seen an F1 owner's manual listed on Ebay.

Clickable

No big surprise on the price really. Too rich for my blood of course.

Re: Mclaren F1 Owner's Manual

Unbelievable. I (just for the heck of it) had plugged 75GBP into my ebay sniping program with about 8 hours to go. Then i went to bed.... this morning i checked and WOW. Didn't Drew get one for like $250? Or was that something else. I seem to remember him mentioning it.

Me? Or the other Drew?

I don't have one. It's a nice souvenier but I can think of better ones.

Funny you say that now...

It's not like I have never changed my mind though. I just bought an F1 Launch Brochure after saying so many times that I didn't want one.

= = = = = =

Actually brought this to the top for a different reason. Apparently our record setting bidder on the F1 Owner's Manual - who mind you, had a big fat "0" feedback score when he placed the winning bid - is now listed on Ebay as "Not a registered user"

He had also placed the high bid that same day on this F1 LM Press Kit which was offered by a different seller.

I'm not sure if we will see either of these items relisted or if the seller will just "Second Chance" the next highest bidder. In the case of the Owner's Manual based on the bidding history listed in the auction it looks like that would only net the seller (I believe) £260.00 or $463.08.
That's quite a bit of depreciation. :22yikes:

Of course since the screwball's bid pushed things over the top of my bid, it never went in. My bid hypothetically would have made 'nsxgenex' the high bidder over me at £382.00 or $680.14. There could have been other legitimate bids for it that got squashed as well.

It really ticks me off that Ebay can't get this stuff under control. Not like I have any great solutions of course, but this is their business and it just makes the whole process look bad.

I know I'd be even more upset if I were that seller.

Well, I didn't say that I wouldn't want one -- it would be cool to have and thumb through once in awhile. But I can think of other souveniers that I would rather have... steering wheel, cam cover, an exclusive version of DA, F1 watch, a wheel from a GTR. You know, something that is impressive to look at and has a history behind it.

I think all of those have been up on eBay at one point or another. I'm pretty much done with eBay though unless something is affordable and on Buy It Now (scratch each of those items off the list).

D@mn you guys.

I bought something from eBay -- after I said I was done with them -- because of this chat. Nothing F1 related though.

Screw you guys, I'm going hoome.

Yeah - I wanted that F1 pedal set pretty bad.

Even Gordon said it was an amazing deal at the price it sold for when I told him about it.

I haven't actually seen the real F1 watch come through Ebay yet. If anyone does see the watch or knows of one that would be available, please let me know ASAP. I know someone that is extremely interested in getting one.

Yeah, buy your cars from McLaren and your watches from TAG/Breitling/Audemar/Patek etc.

I don't "get" the Ferrari laptop either.

Funny you mention wheels. I was going to bring in a front and rear GTR wheel to get measurements.

Do you want an actual steering wheel off a Mac or the same one that the Mac has? I tried to look for a Personal Tornado 200 in black leather from my distributor. That model is discontinued. I haven't tried the suede Personal Grinta though, since suede gets dirty quicker.

Think I want that metal GTR badge more than ever now.

Someone who has a car without the watch contacted me and asked if I would help them track one down. If you had an F1 wouldn't you want all the "stuff" to be complete? I know I would.

The official F1 watch is a TAG.

I personally don't like leather bands on watches, but I do like the watch face.

I figgured that and my statement was a general statement, not one aimed at you. I wouldn't care if i had the watch or not. I'd like the luggage, but i'm not fussed about the watch. What do McLaren have to say about it? In the end, you have the car, lets not be greedy now

Didn't take it that way... I probably should have used a smiley.
