Thumbs down no horse power

bought a 94 stang with a 3.8L it only has 48,000 km on it . car has no horse power , rebuilt the engine and installed custom dual exhaust bbk 56 mm b-body , super chip , under drives , bbk cold air kit . with a g-tech only has 92hp . no change from when i first bought the car. Car has a/t with a stage II shift kit . with a scaner there is no codes, engine runs great but has soon as you crack the throttle it gasps for air , very poor throttle response. All injectors work , fuel pressure is 36psi , base timing is 22 deg, Ford said the car has 190HP.

My '95 is rated at 150hp from the factory according to my owner's manual and my Hayes manual. Once I put on Cobra style rims and tires I imagine my gear ratios changed enough to drop 20 hp from the final drive.

I would say the 3.8 is about as tuned as its going to get from the factory. I would have spent the money and got a 60's model 302 and dropped it in if I wanted a hot car.

base timing factory should be 10 degrees btdc . you can make it about 12 degrees and they will gain you some i think 22 would cause loss because of detonatin .{valve ping} try cleaning your injectors with a iv bottle that may help.
