Gas Leak
Hi - We have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. When we've bought gas the past 2 times a 1/4 - 1/2 cup of gas splashes out all at once on the ground under the fuel tank just as the pump nozzle clicks off. Not a drip, it splashes out all at once. My guess is one of the hoses has slipped off of a fitting or a gasket has cracked somewhere on the tank but I can't see anything. Is the fuel pump inside the tank on this model? Should I take it to a shop or is there something I can do, like refit, tighten or check. Steps to take would be appreciated. I've never had it apart before.
I'm a novice - thanks, Zac & Fred (my boxer!) |

Do a search of this fourm. There are several TJ owners that have had the same problem. I don't remember what the fix was, but there have to be a dozen posts about the excat same problem
